How money reaches the account

Methods recorded for Nigeria: Local NGN bank transfers, Visa/Mastercard debit cards, e-payments, crypto..

The base currency you chose at registration decides whether a conversion happens on the way in. A conversion is a cost even when the transfer itself is free.

Withdrawals come back the way they came

Anti-money-laundering rules push a withdrawal back along the route the deposit took, to the same card or the same bank account in the same name.

That is why a third-party card never works, and why the verification above is worth finishing before the first deposit rather than at the moment you want the money out.

The costs nobody counts

The transfer fee is the visible one. The others are the conversion into the base currency, and the overnight swap if a gold position stays open — work the second one out with the profit calculator before you hold.

If an idea only works when every cost is zero, it does not work.

FAQ

Common questions

What does a naira bank transfer into a gold account actually cost me?

The cost is not one line. It consists of your bank's transfer charge, the conversion from naira into the account's base currency, and any receiving-side charge, so the total depends on your bank, the amount, and the day's rate. Compare the amount debited in naira with the amount credited in dollars before you judge whether a method is cheap.

Which funding methods can I use from Nigeria?

The available routes are local NGN bank transfers, Visa and Mastercard debit cards, e-payments, and crypto. Each behaves differently on cost and speed, and the trade-off depends on the amount and the currency conversion involved. For a first deposit, a naira bank transfer is usually the easiest to trace, since your bank statement gives you a record if a query arises.

Do I pay again when I withdraw, or is the cost only on the way in?

Both directions can carry a cost, and they are not symmetrical. Withdrawal charges depend on the method, the currency, and any conversion back into naira, so read the withdrawal page in your account before you assume the deposit cost is the whole story. Keep your deposit records; some methods require withdrawal back to the same source.

I funded with a debit card. Why can't I withdraw to my bank account directly?

Many brokers route withdrawals back to the original funding source, so a card deposit is often returned to that card up to the amount deposited. The exact rule is the broker's policy, so check it in your account rather than assuming. If your card has expired, expect a support ticket and extra documents before the funds move.

How do I size a gold position after funding so the deposit is not over-committed?

Size from the margin requirement, not from the balance. At 1:200, a 0.10-lot XAU/USD position needs about $85.50 margin, and 1 lot is 100 oz with one pip equal to 0.01. Run your planned lot size through our position size, margin and pip value calculators so the deposit covers margin plus a realistic buffer for adverse moves.
